Becoming an editorial stylist has been a lifelong goal of Sonya's. She is an accomplished stylist with over nine years experience. Currently she manages her clientele and career as a hairstylist at beautiful Seven Salon.Spa in Stockbridge where she keeps herself very busy.

Broadening the scope of her work was the logical next step for this talented stylist. While taking meticulous care of her clients is a priority, she believes that editorial and stage

work gives her an opportunity to be more creative.

Sonya began her career at Peter Alvarez Salon where she learned the fundamentals of cutting, coloring and styling while really digesting Peters philosophy about wash and dry hair.

There she learned invaluable lessons from a master and, more importantly, how to listen and follow her instincts. "I believe that 9 times out of 10 your client will tell you exactly what she is looking for. You have to have the ability to truly listen and hear the things that are important to her." Sonya attends educational classes as often as possible for inspiration and new techniques. She believes "there is always more to learn". Currently she works with stylists from all over Berkshire county, including Mark Johnson, the owner and top stylist at Seven Salon.Spa. He has also taught her some tricks to the trade and has had his own extensive career in runway and editorial work in New York City.

Sonya's work has been featured all over the Berkshires. She has worked backstage at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Ma. Her work has been featured in Berkshire Living magazine. Her most recent work was photographed at the beautiful Stoneover Farm in Lenox where she styled models for Majestic International, a men's loungewear company.

Her professional demeanor on site, the expertise in her field and her creative drive make her an excellent stylist and valuable team member.
